Our Story
Ozzyroams isn't just the story of a traveling cat… it's a story of love, loss, resilience, and adventure.
I started this page at the end of December 2025, simply for fun. Ozzy already came everywhere with me. He walked on a leash every day, sat beside me at restaurants, and was simply part of my life. A friend told me I should be documenting it, and ozzyroams grew out of the life we were already living.
Ozzy's story began in Poland, where my mom rescued him from the streets as a dirty, frightened, starving little kitten. They became inseparable, and through her illness and battle with cancer, he was an enormous source of love and comfort to her.
I later brought them both to the United States so she could receive treatment. Sadly, she passed away shortly after. Ozzy was able to visit her in the hospital and say goodbye, and afterward he grieved deeply. He would stand by the door and cry for her.
I bought him his first harness and leash because I wanted to help him. Those walks gave him confidence and a new way to experience the world, and they became the beginning of everything that followed. Today he travels internationally, walks every single day, and makes friends wherever he goes.
When we're home, Ozzy spends much of his day beside me while I work as a licensed psychotherapist. He has become a gentle, calming presence in many of my sessions, an unofficial co-therapist who helps people feel safe and a little less alone. The cat who once needed help with his own grief now offers comfort to others. To me, Ozzy represents compassion, resilience, connection, and love.
Ozzy shares his life with his two brothers, Steel and Ziggy. Ziggy was rescued in Texas five years ago, just hours before he was scheduled to be euthanized. Steel, my very first cat, came into our lives after the loss of my beloved Boxer, Kal-El, whose grieving brother Michael was struggling with severe separation anxiety. It was almost as if Kal-El had sent us a tiny superhero, appropriately named Steel, after the Man of Steel, to help his brother heal. Raised alongside Michael, Steel quickly became his inseparable companion, joining us on daily walks, learning to explore the world on a leash, and eventually traveling with me all the way to Europe. Little did I know that this extraordinary bond would begin my lifelong adventure of exploring the world with cats!
Ozzy may be the face of the page, but this is really the story of our very happy little family.
